Excel Menubar text is backwards
Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing the menubar text to be backwards on my Excel 2000 apps? Other MS Office programs are not affected. The hotkeys are the same, the only thing that seems to be affected is the backwards spelling of File, Edit, View, etc. Screenshot below: 4362 Any feedback is appreciated. xlionx +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: backwards.GIF | |Download: http://www.excelforum.com/attachment.php?postid=4362 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- xlionx ------------------------------------------------------------------------ xlionx's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=31586 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=512788 |

Your link goes to a page with this error message:

If so, your next step should be he www.securitytango.com Read the intro, then click on the "Let's Dance" link on the left. No matter how lengthy the instructions seem, follow them to the letter. x,
Sounds like one your "friends" with access to your computer has played a joke on you. Check the "Pleh" (help) menu to see if there is a menu item that restores your menubar. It not, see if there is a macro in the workbook or in the Personal.xls file that alters the Toolbar. If so delete it. Then reset the menu bar. This is a good reason to include the .XLB file in a user's regular backups.
IIRC, the file doesn't exist unless the user makes some sort of change to the menu or tool bar. Restoring the backed up copy will return menu & toolbar to the customized state.
