How do I turn off virus scan on opening an Excel file?
I use and amend Excel files on my PC. 99.9% of the time they do not need a
virus scan so it is a waste of time "Requesting a virus scan" every time I open a file. How do I turn it off as a default, and how do I turn it on for the once in a blue moon accasion I need it? |

Hi!
That is a setting of your AV software, not Excel. How to turn it on/off depends on what AV program you use. Biff "Bowler" wrote in message ... For Norton Antivirus:
Go to Options | Miscellaneous and uncheck "Turn Office Plug-in on." If you wish to scan a file before opening it, right-click it and click "Scan with Norton Antivirus" on the pop-up menu. |
