Missing "Custom View" entry from View menu
Hello Can anyone help me with this problem I'm using Excel 97 and the "Custom View" entry on the View menu bar has disappeared from the list I've tried right clicking on the menu bar and choosing customize but all I can find is an option to add a drop down box to choose from existing views - I can't find an option to add a new view Any ideas on how I can get it back without unistalling Excel or deleting my Personal.xls file as I have a lot of macros I don't want to loose Thanks -- mycroft777 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mycroft777's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=31141 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=508021 |

The toolbar changes are stored in a file called *.xlb (name and location vary
with versions of excel and versions of windows). Reinstalling excel won't help/hurt in this case. (And personal.xls won't be affected by a reinstall, either. Tools|customize|Commands tab|view category Click on the custom view icon and drag it to the View toolbar. If you ever want to reset the toolbars back to factory defaults.... close excel windows search search for *.xlb (in hidden folders for hidden files, too) Rename all the *.xlb files you find to *.xlbOLD (or just delete them if you really want) mycroft777 wrote: Hello Can anyone help me with this problem I'm using Excel 97 and the "Custom View" entry on the View menu bar has disappeared from the list I've tried right clicking on the menu bar and choosing customize but all I can find is an option to add a drop down box to choose from existing views - I can't find an option to add a new view Any ideas on how I can get it back without unistalling Excel or deleting my Personal.xls file as I have a lot of macros I don't want to loose Thanks -- mycroft777 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mycroft777's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=31141 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=508021 -- Dave Peterson |
