Opening workbooks
 

If opening and closing a workbook on a shared drive takes a very long
time, would it help to make each worksheet in the workbook separate
workbooks?

No.


For best speed first copy the file to your local drive before openning it.
When done, save it back on the local drive and, if necessary, copy it back to
the the network drive.
