Convert postcode to text
Can anyone offer a way to convert a column of postcodes/zipcodes (currently
in general format) to text. Reason is to import these into a Word document as part of a mail merge. Currently when imported they show up with a decimal point and a zero after the number (eg. 4173.0) Manually changing the column to text format doesn't appear to effect the merge. Only thing that has worked is creating a new column and setting it to 'Text' format and then re-entering the data. Once done they display in word as (eg. 4173) There must be a better way! Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks David |

Highlight the column of postcodes/zipcodes (currently in general format) and change the format to text. Numbers such as 4173.0 will become 4173. -- cycling-rod ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cycling-rod's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=13520 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=503968 |
