data validation and cell protection
I am trying to restrict the data that is allowed to be entered into a range of cells and have set up some drop down lists using data validation. The problem I'm running into is that if I protect the cells, I'm unable to make a selection from the drop down list. If I don't protect the cells, people (it's a shared file) copy data that is not in my drop down list from other cells and paste it into these restricted cells to bypass the error alert. Does anybody know how to have data validation and protect the cells? Also, this wasn't an issue in Excel 2000, but we just upgraded to 2002 and that's where I'm having the problems. Thanks. -- jerrystan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jerrystan's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=28573 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=503016 |
