MS Excel CSV

I have an excel file in CSV format. I would like to require a password to
open file (save as, tools, general options, input password). Can you do this
with CSV format? This works for me obviously with standard excel file but a
CSV format this option becomes greyed out.

CSV files are plain text. They can be opened in any text editor (notepad, for
example).

If you really want to protect it, maybe you can zip it with a password or use an
encryption program (I bet google can find tons).
