Default Symbols inside cells

I want to put a symbol in a cell with a number, [+2] for example. However
when I do this Excel automatically removes it, [+2] becomes [2]. How can I
get Excel to leave the cell, or others like it, alone?

Hi,

Type a single quote first and then type what you need.

For eg. type ='+2 which would appear as +2

Regards

Govind.
