Excel doesn't know it's text.
Either put an apostrophe in front of it: '6990011011234 or change the number format of the cell: FormatCellsNumber tab Category: Text Does that help? *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP-Pro "pj" wrote: Why does excel convert my text for example "6990011011234" to "6.99E+12"?
