Default Excel 2003 upgrade - files truncated

Upgrade from Excel 2000 to Excel 2003. Upon opening previously existing
spreadsheet from "MY Documents, we get an error ".....Too many records,
cannot import complete file."

The data is truncated. Originally 150 rows (records) now 108.

If we open Excel and then open the file, we do not get the error message,
but data is still truncated
