Excel fails to save

I have one spreadsheet that fails to save about 50% of the time. Is there a
utility that I can run on my spreadsheet to try and identify the issue?

What specifically happens when you try to save the file and it
fails?

Just says "save failed". It doesn't crash, or error out. I usually save it to
another location, I get the same error, but it does actually save.

You're not trying to save to some kind of removable media, are you? If so,
don't ever do this! Always save to a hard drive, close Excel and copy from
there to the removable media.
