Excel click through
 

At work I can double click on a cell that is linked to another
spreadsheet and it opens that spreadsheet. How do u turn this on? Does
it work in office 2000 or do u need Office pro?

Try:

Tools|Options|Edit Tab
uncheck Edit directly in cell
