why does an Excel email attachment change file name when opened.
Has anyone come across this before? The attached Excel spreadsheet is sent
via Novel Groupwise email and when opening the sheet the file name changes. |

In all likelihood, the email attachement is stored on the email server, which
neither Excel nor you can access directly. When you attempt to open the email attachement, the email application retrieves the file from the email server and saves it in a temporary file on your hard drive. Does the file have a name like ~561461.xls? Does that help? *********** Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP-Pro "tpayne" wrote: Has anyone come across this before?
