Can't add new rates II
I am trying to add a new code with pay rates to a range titled EmployeesList on worksheet titled Parameters. When I type in the new code in the next row down from the existing codes it aligns itself on the right hand side of the cell. Allof the other codes are on the left hand side with formatting of number and general alignment. When I change the new codes format to number and general alignment it centers it in the middle. When I go to worksheet Time Entry and type in the new code it comes up with #N/A in the cell where the rate that is inputted with it on Parameters sheet should show up. So, instead of trying to add a new code, I changed the number of an old code and it went from being left indent to right indent and it then came up as #N/A when I tried to use it. Please Help!!! |

It highlighted the columns with the codes and the rates that go with them.

Ok, try this: Hold down the CTRL key and hit the F3 key, this will bring out the Define name box, select "employeeslist" from the list then check out the "Refers to" box at the bottom, enlarge your range by ajusting the last parameter e.g. =Sheet1!$D$6:$E$20 to =Sheet1!$D$6:$E$30 that would add 10 rows to the list then hit OK. You should now be able to add to the list, try that and let me how it goes. It's a puzzle for sure. If you want I can take a look at it. Make a copy then delete any sensitive information if any and send me the copy but only if that is an option. I've just answered this on the "functions" site - please don't
multi-post! You codes may need to be in sequence within EmployeesList for the formulae to work, so you can't just add them to the end of the list - insert them at the appropriate place, and ensure that they are in the correct format as the other codes (numeric or text). Pete |
