Conditional Formatting a Timeline?

I am developing a timeline in Excel with many tasks listed. I would like to
provide a status of each task in relation to the due date, where we are in
the review process, and whether or not we are on schedule.

There are several layers of the review, and each layer has a due date
attached to it. How can I create a function that will shade the cell red,
yellow or green based on if we are on schedule (green) or behind (red)?

HELP!!

Thanks in advance!

Send me the workbook and maybe I can create a special feature for you.
