Is there an easier way?
 

There has got to be an easier to accomplish the same end results as the
attached formula... any pointers?

Hi, try this array formula:

=SUM((B12:E12)*(B17:E17))

entered with SHIFT+CTRL+ENTER

Or use sumproduct as MS originally intended <bg

=SUMPRODUCT(B12:E12,B17:E17)
