I added some updates or downlaods to Excel when I was trying to make some
charts, histograms to be exact. Now when I click on Excel, the backgound opens, but nothing else happens, I cannot use the program. I went to Add/Remove Programs, but it does not appear that I can change just that. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much, M |

Try the usual fix(es) for this problem.
ToolsOptionsGeneral uncheck "Ignore other Applications" Exit Excel and try again If this doesn't work try to re-register Excel Close Excel first and On the Windows Taskbar 1) StartRun "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)OK. 2) StartRun "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK. See the space between exe and /regserver You might have to designate a full path to excel.exe. In that case StartRun "C:\yourpath\excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)O Gord Dibben Excel MVP On Sat, 17 Dec 2005 10:12:01 -0800, "M123" wrote: I added some updates or downlaods to Excel when I was trying to make some charts, histograms to be exact. Thank you for your help. Part of the difficulty was that none of the options
will such as "tools" would work. When I click on the X to close the window, the document appears for a moment then closes. It is very strange. I actually went to Add/Remove Programs again and located Excel Add-ins and removed them. Excel is now opening without trouble. Thanks for the advice and Merry Christmas.
