hyperlinks work for some but not others
Some people cannot access hyperlinks in another building. The links are all
excel files and are all in an excel file. Some people can access all links, some can only access 2, some can access all but the 2 others can access and some can't access any at all. When i change the way i set the hyperlinks up it seems to have an impact on who can access the links....help!!! |
hyperlinks work for some but not others
Lots of people write about hyperlinks (inserted via the insert|hyperlink menu)
get changed when opened on another pc. I'm guessing that the links point to a network drive. I always had better luck using the UNC path (\\server\sharename\folder\file.xls) rather than the mapped drive (M:\folder\file.xls). And you may want to try to change the hyperlink base: File|Properties|summary tab hyperlink base box: Change it to C:\ (as long as the links to point to the c: drive) ====== But what's worked best for me is to use the =hyperlink() worksheet function. You may want to try that. Steve wrote: Some people cannot access hyperlinks in another building. The links are all excel files and are all in an excel file.
