No.

Excel can be the source of the secondary merge file, but the primary
file is a Word option.

You can, of course, pick up data from other Worksheets, Workbooks, or
files.

Excel does not have that function as such.

What do you need to do?

There may be an Excel method of achieving the same thing but under an Excel
Function.
