When shutting down my computer, message says Excel can't close.
When I try to shut down my computer, I get a message that Excel can't be
closed. I have tried re-opening and re-exiting Excell but that doesn't make any difference. So I cannot shut down my laptop. Thus it would keep running until the battery is worn down. Not a good solution. Can someone please help? Thanks@! |

Start Programs Accessories System Tools Task Manager
or run taskmgr.exe select either tasks or processes, locate Excel and stop it. -- Gary's Student "Chicago" wrote: When I try to shut down my computer, I get a message that Excel can't be closed. We have solved a symptom. You still need to figure out why Excel is hanging.
(but at least you can shut the computer down (without removing the battery)) -- Gary''s Student "Gary''s Student" wrote: Start Programs Accessories System Tools Task Manager or run taskmgr.exe select either tasks or processes, locate Excel and stop it. -- Gary's Student "Chicago" wrote: When I try to shut down my computer, I get a message that Excel can't be closed. Dear 'Gary's Student' ...
Much appreciate your kind assistance. I am hoping that Excel is in a better mood tomorrow and doesn't hang up. :-) if it does, I'll be back for more ideas! Thanks so much!
