Advanced customization of charts?

Hello

I'm looking for a way to customize an excelchart. There are two things I
would like to do:
1) Make a combination chart that combinates line with stacked-column
2) Be able to "manually" select which series that should use either type
(line or stacked-column)

Kind regards Marcus

Create a stacked column chart from all the data
Select the series that you want as a line chart
Choose ChartChart Type
Select Line chart type, and one of the chart subtypes
Click OK

Jon Peltier has information on creating your own combination charts:

Advanced customization of charts?

I have Excel 2002. I created an x-y chart with several curves. I am varying
the line thicknesses of the various curves, but am not satisfied with the
selection of thicknesses. I especially need the line thickness for one
particular series to be at least twice the maximum thickness offered in the
"Format Data Series" dialog box under "Patterns". My intent is to depict a
curved region as a general representation of many data points, without
showing a confusing cloud of individual points. I thought that I could
create an artificial series that is curved to my liking, then expand the line
thickness to create the desired region. I also tried using the filled line
styles, but without success. Can you help me?

Create a series with the points needed to generate the curve (use lots of
points close together rather than relying on the smooth curve feature of
Excel's line and XY charts), then use the first procedure in this tutorial
to generate a polygon fitting the points. Format this polygon with whatever
line features you need.
