addin workbook
 

I have created a workbook with some formulae from a addin downloaded from
the internet. This addin appears as userdefined in the dropdownlist of
recently used formulae.It works well on my PC

what is the procedure to send this workbook and addin to another PC and get
it working?for eg I want the workbook and addin in a floppy and download it
to another PC the formulas did not work.

The best way would be for the owner of the other PC were to download and
install the add-in themselves.

I saved the addin and the workbook on a floppy and installed it on another
PC and it was not able to locate the addin.The formula was showing the whole
path to the addin as it was in the previous PC and so everyone formula path
was deleted and then only did it work.

Anything that can be done to help excel to recognize the addin as the addin
will be downloaded in the addin folder of the PC

You could be careful and install the addin the the same location (same drive and
same folder) on all the pc's that are going to use it.

Or you could change the link to point at the other location after you open the
workbook.

Edit|links|change source.

If you're going to share this with others, you may even want to use a common
network folder and then install the addin from that network location. Using the
UNC path would probably be better than depending on the drive letters being the
same: \\server\folder\myaddin.xla

Or if there is no common network share, create a nice folder on the C:\ drive:

C:\Addins

for each person and put the addin file there. Then install the addin from that
location.
