I have created a work sheet to track what daily tasks my employees do on a
job. I have numerous employees, each doing several tasks. I want to have a
"Notes" column where I can document any special conditions that may have
existed when the work was performed. For example, Al painted a room and Bob
installed floor tile. I can document the work tasks, but I need to document
if painting was done on a cloudy day or the floor was bumpy. Then, I would
like to search the "Notes" column for all work done on a cloudy day, etc.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi!

Define what you mean by "search".

Hi Bill,
Would the Auto filter work on your needs?

(Data,Filter,AutoFilter)

difficult to give suggestions in the absence of complete data. presume the
<notes is in the last column and in each other columns are filled with some
entries

then edit-find-cloudy day. once that cell is highlighted cllick end & right
arrow and it will take to the notes column in that row.

or

data-filter-autofilter
then in the partiuclr column where <cloudyday is expected click small
arrow, click custom and type =cloudy day
all the rows with cloudy day in tht column will be filterd. and the last
column will be the corresponding notes

hope you get the hand ofit.
