Backup file for excel

If you didn't create a backup, then your file is gone?

But did you check all the places that you may have stored it? Did you check the
recycle bin?

You can tell excel to make a backup by:
file|saveAs
tools|General Options|Check the "always create backup"

This is a workbook setting, so you'll have to do it for each workbook that you
want.
