Default Print same header at top of each printed page

I am looking to print the same header at the top of each printed page. I
have gone to File/Page Setup/Sheet. It then says rows to repeat at top
and I have put in the row number, it then says "reference not valid".
Is there a syntex problem or Am I totally wrong?
