copy/convert column email addresses Hyperlink "mailto:" excel97
I am trying to convert a column of e-mail addresses to hyperlink "mailto:".
I am still using Excel 97 and, so far, cannot find a way to get it done without having to type each address again, cell by cell, in the "Insert Hyperlink" drop-down. The same addresses are in Word 97 in a table and the "mailto:" hyperlink works well there. I have tried copying from Word to Excel but it looses the hyperlink on transfer. Can anybody, please, come up with a simple answer to this? About 300 addresses are involved! |

In 2003 you can select the cell with the hyperlink, press F2 and Enter and it
will automatically insert the hyperlink. I'm not sure about 97 though. HTH -- Sincerely, Michael Colvin "daleman101" wrote: I am trying to convert a column of e-mail addresses to hyperlink "mailto:". Thank you Anne Troy. It works - yipee. Just an observation; the cell looks
different by this method i.e. it shows "mailto:" in the cell whereas when using the "Insert hyperlink" method only the address shows. In the Insert method the cell also shows as hyperlink in Properties - but not so by this solution. This of course is not a problem, just an observation! Again, many thanks.
