I have read postings that suggested using the "double accounting underline".

As far as I know.... Format--Cell, Border and choose the double-line border

As an alternative to Ann's suggestion, you could also try FormatCellsAlignmentHorizontalFill Then just type an = sign in the cell and it will fill across. Select the cells that you want to format
Choose FormatCells On the Font tab, from the Underline dropdown list, choose Double Accounting.
