finding & filtering out duplicate cells
I have 3 columns & about 40 rows of accounts (text). I would like to be able
to find all the duplicate accounts and have them filtered out to a blank column. Data sort does not work because of the volume of accounts & number of columns. I have tried advanced filter but it only copies the entire cells -- does not just give me the duplicate records. I really appreciate your help with this! -- Jackie |

finding & filtering out duplicate cells
Hi Jackie,
I have tried advanced filter but it only copies the entire cells -- does not just give me the duplicate records Checking the 'Unique records only' option on the Advanced Filter dialog should do exactly that. You can optionally filter the unique records in situ, or copy them elsewhere. In what way does this not work for you? --- Regards, Norman "Jackie" wrote in message ... even using unique records only just copies all the records to the new column
... does not filter out only the duplicates .... -- Jackie "Norman Jones" wrote: Hi Jackie, I have tried advanced filter but it only copies the entire cells -- does not just give me the duplicate records Checking the 'Unique records only' option on the Advanced Filter dialog should do exactly that.
