Strange freezing on startup
Only happens with a specific workbook: I load it, it loads, and then it freezes. Will only let me... 1) Pull up task manager and hard quit. 2) Lets me select a different sheet, and once I do that, everything is fine. Anyone heard of Excel doing this before? Anyone have a solution? -- grime ------------------------------------------------------------------------ grime's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=19227 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=478041 |
Strange freezing on startup
If it only happens to one workbook, I'd guess that there was a problem with that
one workbook. It could be corrupted. If it is, it's time to start (or past time) to recreate that workbook. You may have some luck trying to open that file with a newer version of excel. xl2002+ might be able to open it???? Or maybe OpenOffice (free spreadsheet program) would work for you: http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-65 meg download or a CD Lots of people have saved lots of work by using OpenOffice to open files that excel wouldn't. grime wrote: Only happens with a specific workbook: I load it, it loads, and then it freezes.
