finding cell values
 

If I have a column of numbers and want to find which of these numbers add up
to a specific value how do you do this using a formula? eg; have values 50,
28,32,19,42 and the sum value is 102. Can you make excel identify the values
that make up to 102 without manually trying to find them yourself?

Hi thanks for that ... would like to go a bit further with this... can solver
help?;

The problem is I have a spreadsheet with a column of about 2,000 values
eg:

1100.01
250.00
-356.22
-678.99
etc...

I have a specific value eg. 1356.33 which can be to 2 decimal places
and I need excel to tell me which of the values in the column add up to
the specified value: 1356.33 it doesnt have to give me 1356.33 but to
the nearest whole number eg. 1356 or 1357. Can solver do this ? and
how? please help would be extremely grateful !!
