Change CSV-load cell format from GENERAL to TEXT for numbers?

Article ID: 269370 "Last digits are changed to zeroes when you type long
numbers in cells of Excel" explains half of the problem.

I am loading a CSV file with Credit Card numbers and loosing the last digit.
The workaround is to rename the file as *.txt and loading the file and
setting the column's format to Text.

Can't one customize Excel 2003 to default the cell format to Text?

Morena,

You can record a macro while you're going through the Text Wizard that the
..txt extension evokes. That will record all your choices. Macros let you
customize and automate virtually anything you do with Excel.
