renumbering of rows
Hello everybody. I have a spreadsheet where row 1 and row 2 I am using for headers. I have frozen rows 1 and 2 so the header is always visible when I enter data. I was wondering if there is a way to renumber the rows so the headers does not contain the numbers 1 and 2. Any help anybody can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -- pboost1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pboost1's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=11895 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=472704 |
While you can't change the numbering of the rows, you can get something that
will look almost the same: 1. Click on column A 2. Insert Column 3. Starting at cell A3 and moving on down, enter 1,2,3,4,... The new column A will be numbered just as you desire. -- Gary''s Student "pboost1" wrote: Hello everybody. I have a spreadsheet where row 1 and row 2 I am using for headers. You could hide the row numbers and use column A to show what you want, but I
wouldn't bother. It'll become a pain when you insert/delete rows and when you're writing formulas. Besides, isn't everyone used to seeing those row numbers in excel? pboost1 wrote: Hello everybody.
