I enter 123456789123456789, this displays as 123456789123456000
 
I am unable to enter 123456789123456789 as this displays as
123456789123456000 which is incorrect. any thoughts

I know from a pervious discussion with Frank Kabel, that Excel only handles
up to 15 digits. If you describe your problem though, maybe there is another
solution.

Preformat the cell as text
or start with a leading apostrophe '123456789123456789

But then the value will be text--not a number.
