Pivot table Data always showing up as "Count"
Hi guys first post here and tried searching for this but couldn't find it. I have a pivot table and whenever I drag and drop in to the Data portion of it, the pivot is always putting it in as a "count" and I am always having to change it to "Sum". Is there a way to change the default way that a pivot handles info droppped into the data box? Thanks in advnace for your help. -n00b  -- qwopzxnm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ qwopzxnm's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=27557 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=470809 |
You can't change the default settings for the data fields. If a field
contains blank cells, or cells with text, it will default to COUNT. Otherwise, it will SUM. There's a feature that changes all the data fields to SUM, in my pivot table add-in, that you can download he http://www.contextures.com/xlPivotAddIn.html qwopzxnm wrote: I have a pivot table and whenever I drag and drop in to the Data portion of it, the pivot is always putting it in as a "count" and I am always having to change it to "Sum".
