How do I turn off default tool bars?

Thanks for any help.
When I open Excel, the reviewing tool bar is always shown. I never use it,
and would like to not have it shown when I start Excel, so I don't have to
waste time every time and close it. Is there a way to tell Excel that I don't
want it open automatically when I start Excel? I looked in ToolsCustomize
and ToolsOptions but couldn't find anything. Thanks

If you close the Reviewing toolbar and shutdown Excel, upon restarting Excel
it should not appear. That is, unless your have a workbook opening
automatically with Excel (like a startup template [BOOK.XLT] or Personal.xls
in your XLSTART folder) that has at sometime been sent 'for review'.

When a workbook is sent 'for review' special custom file properties are
added to it to trigger the reviewing toolbar. If you remove these
properties (File, Properties, Custom) and save the workbook the workbook
should no longer trigger the reviewing toolbar.

Hi Jim,
Should not is correct, unfortunately it does on mine. Also, in my case it
also happens with new sheets plus if I deselect the tool bar and then reboot
my computer it reappears. This happens on my work computer as well as my home
computer. I saw the commands posted by others to help stop this but I am not
a strong enough user to write or even load them.
