hyperlink problem
I don't work in Excel very much. One of my customers sent me an Excel file
to import. One of the columns is for email addresses. The ones that are valid addresses are showing up blue and underlined which is fine. But when clicking in the cells to do any editing they automatically open up a new email window. I looked through the help and the options and can't see where to turn this off. I figure there has to be a way. As a side note, it sure woudl be nice if they'd get these office tools to perform in similar ways. Word has you do CTRL+click to get to a hyperlink. Can this be set up the same way in Excel or is it just another MS inconsistency? Keith |
Keith, most people prefer to remove the underlying hyperlinks. You can put
this macro in your personal.xls file... http://vbaexpress.com/kb/getarticle.php?kb_id=73 If you want to remove from the entire workbook, change the range to A1:IV65536 ************ Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "Keith G Hicks" wrote in message ...
