Format several pages at once w/o data changing (Excel).
I have a user that used Lotus 123 to format several pages at once; however,
not changing the data within the cells amongst these pages. So whenever you format the sheet, the other sheets format as well. And if you change a number, it will only change on that sheet and not the rest. We are now using Excel 2003 and was wondering if it had the same capability as Lotus 123. I was unsuccessful in finding a way to do this. |
You can group sheets by holding down the CTRL key as you click
the sheet tabs. Any changes made to one sheet will be made to all grouped sheets. Right-click a sheet and choose Ungroup from the popup menu to ungroup the sheets. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Marie D" <Marie wrote in message ... I showed the user how to do this, but he says that in Lotus you can keep
sheets grouped and modify format (which will apply to all grouped sheets) and data (which will not overwrite data on the other grouped sheets). He doesn't want to have to group and ungroup everytime he makes a formatting change...any way of doing that in Excel. Grouped sheets in Excel take ALL changes made to the one sheet. Data will be overwritten when sheets are grouped. User will just have to group and ungroup to make formatting changes. There is no way to do what you want to do. Changes to grouped
sheets include all changes, not just formatting changes. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Marie D" wrote in message ...
