I don't know whether anyone can help. Is there a way of customising the quick
launch tool bar on the left hand side of the box when you go "File" , "open" Thanks |

Yes, but it may require a manual registry edit. Go to the www.microsoft.com
and search for userdefinedplaces. You can narrow it down further by adding the office version (eg 2000, 2003) -- Ian -- "Jon Scales" wrote in message ... I don't know whether anyone can help. Depends on what version of excel you're using...
If you're using xl2002 (or higher), you can add your favorite folders to the lefthand side of file|open and file|saveas dialog. Point to your folder (inside the file|SaveAs dialog), then Tools|Add to "My Places" And if you're using xl2k, MS has a COM addin that's called Places.exe that allows you to update the places list. http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q253338 INFO: Office Developer Samples and Tools Available for Download (Q253338) Scroll about halfway down.
