How do you omit the apostrophe before entering '07?
I am entering a document into excel and there, I believe, an auto format on
that I have to put an apostrophe before putting 07 into a cell. I want the cell to read 07 not 7, without entering an apostrophe first. What do I have to do to turn this off? |
Format the cell(s) as text:
format|cells|Number tab|choose text. roseheart01 wrote: I am entering a document into excel and there, I believe, an auto format on that I have to put an apostrophe before putting 07 into a cell. Before entering the data, pull-down
Format Cells... Custom and then type 00 in place of general. Then type 7 in the cell and the leading zero will appear or if you type 07 the leading zero will not vanish -- Gary''s Student "roseheart01" wrote: I am entering a document into excel and there, I believe, an auto format on that I have to put an apostrophe before putting 07 into a cell.
