Flashing spreadsheet

Running office 2003 and after working with a spreadsheet it will start
flashing. This causes Excel to either slow down to a snail's pace or quit
responding all together. Any ideas??

CLR

Is this with ANY file on that computer, or just one particular file?
If only one, does it act the same way on another computer?

It is with different files not any one in particular.

Are all the files which exihibit this problem of a similar nature, for
example, all the same format, just different months, or differemt accounts
or something like that whereby they might all have the same problem by
design?

Do ANY files work correctly on that computer, without demonstrating this
problem?

No, some make references to other sheets and others are stand alone.

Well, if you can't run ANY Excel files on that computer without having the
problem, and those same files run fine on another computer, then the problem
is obviously with either the first computer or it's installation of
Excel/Office. If other non-Office programs work fine on that computer then
you may have to re-install Office/Excel. If no other programs will work
either, then you have a hardware/OS problem.
