The first workbook I open in excel causes book 1 to also be opene.
When i open a file in excel a book 1 is also created. I do not want this and
have to shut it. Very frustrating. This only seems to have happened recently but i do not know what has caused it. Can anyone help with getting rid of it. |
It may be related to an add-in that you recently installed that requires a
blank workbook open for the add-in to load. "manders" wrote: When i open a file in excel a book 1 is also created. I do not want this and have to shut it. Very frustrating. This only seems to have happened recently but i do not know what has caused it. Can anyone help with getting rid of it. |
I really dont care why - i just want to know how to stop it. One of my
clooeauges had the same problem and he seems to have inadvertantly cured it but doesn't know how ! Perhaps you have a Book1.xls in your XLSTART folder.
If so, remove it. Another spot to watch out for is the ToolsOptionsGeneral "At startup open files in" or "Alternate startup file location".
