255 characters in a cell
Is there a way to view more than 255 characters in a cell? You can see all
the characters in the edit bar at the top, but in the field, you can't see anything voer 255. Is there a way around this limitation?? Using Excel 2000 or 2003 |
XL00 and XL03 both allow 1024 characters to be displayed in a cell. Try
expanding your cell height or width. To view more, you'll have to insert line breaks (OPT-ENTER) at least every 1024 characters. do you mean ALT & ENTER for linebreaks? Cheers JulieD "JE McGimpsey" wrote in message ... XL00 and XL03 both allow 1024 characters to be displayed in a cell. Try expanding your cell height or width. What about XL02. I have the same limitation in XL02. Alt-Enter helps but
not that much. "JulieD" wrote: hi John do you mean ALT & ENTER for linebreaks? Cheers JulieD "JE McGimpsey" wrote in message ... XL00 and XL03 both allow 1024 characters to be displayed in a cell. Nope. I use OPT-ENTER.
Those stuck with WinXL should use ALT, tho' <g In article , "JulieD" wrote: do you mean ALT & ENTER for linebreaks? |
I've seen at least 15,000 characters by using lots of alt-enters and a small
enough font. TimMc wrote: What about XL02. I have the same limitation in XL02. Alt-Enter helps but not that much. "JulieD" wrote: hi John do you mean ALT & ENTER for linebreaks?
