open document
 

when i try to open file, exel opens with no document and then i have to clikc
file and open and point to that same document i was trying to open in the
first place. Any idea how to fix that?

Sometimes one of these works:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.
