consolidation
 

hi there

i need help badly!!

i am writing a macro in my macro there are times in which i need to use
a consolidation but i cant seem to get it to work relitivly .
what i have is two rows a row of dates and a row of amounts of
values(hours ) i need code that will check through my dates and if it
finds any repeating dates it will add the the hours leaving me with one
of each date and the hours totalled

i hope that made sense any help would be great

If your data is sorted, you could select your range and do Data|Subtotals.

Then you could use the outlining symbols to the left to show/hide the details.

(or you may want to look at data|pivottable. They're made for this kind of
thing.)
