how do I calculate the hole made by an equilateral triangle of 5cm

If by hole you mean the volume of the triangle, that would be zero. only a
pyramid could make a hole..

(include the formula for your computation 'on paper' and someone can help
you put it in Excel)

If you want the inradius (or outradius), see

=5*SQRT(3)/6 (inradius for 5cm)
