WHEN I SEND AN EXCEL FILE WHY DOES IT CONVERT TO .DAT FILE?

MY OFFICE IS TRYING TO SEND ME A SPREADSHEET AND THEY ARE USING EXCEL BUT I
CAN'T OPEN IT BECAUSE I RECIEVE IT AS A .DAT FILE

Rename your file. If the received file is data.dat, rename it to data.xls

It's not a good idea to type in all caps, it's as if you're yelling.

Try renaming the file to .xls. Maybe the office's server is doing
something to the file extension.
