is there a way to have a calculator on your spreed sheet to do manual
calculations like you use in a classroom?. if so, can that calculator follow
you like its suspended in the air as you move around in excel? i am tired of
the pen and paper

Colin,
In it's basic form, Excel IS A CALCULATOR!
However, if that's not what you want, why not just use the calculator in...
STARTPROGRAMSACCESSORIESCALCULATOR?

Hi Colin2U,

Right-click a toolbar | Customize | Commands tab | Tools

In the right-hand Commands window, scroll down (near bottom) to locate a
calculator-like icon entitled 'Cusom'.

Drag the icon to a suitable poition on your selected toolbar and release.
Close.

Call the calculator, when required, from the toolbar button.

Also, are you aware that by typing a formula in any cell including cells with
information in them, then hitting F2 Edit) then F9 (Calc), viewing and/or
copying the result, then hitting ESC will leave the worksheet as is and
you've got your # in memory?

Hi Colin2U,

With more adept typing:

calculator-like icon entitled 'Cusom'

would read:

calculator-like icon entitled 'Custom'.
