Excel file size question

Is there a maximum size of file recommended?
Or does is simply matter how much memory is in the computer.
I have a database file approaching 3 meg and it is taking a noticable time
to save. Shall i just let it grow, or shall i strip out some of the older
lines and archive them somewhere.

Just wondering what people tend to do.

Thanks,
Rick

First try resetting the used range on the sheets. It's at
www.contextures.com. Save the file again, and check the size.
