Default Excel Add-in Use on a Terminal Server

Hello,

I am working with add-ins in Excel 2000 on a terminal server. I have users
loading Excel add-ins in a terminal server environment on a per user basis?
What is the best way to load/unload/use Excel add-ins is a Win 2000 terminal
server environment. The file for the add-in they load is stored on a network
drive, and it is not a standard add-in preloaded in Excel.

Amanda,

I may be incorrect here as I don't use terminal server yet, but I would have
thought that each user has to install the add-in individually
(ToolsAdd-Ins...) so as to save that information in the personal registry
keys.

I would agree that each user has to load the add-in individually, but
couldn't you use group policy to administer these registry changes? Any
other ideas in this area?

Amanda,

You could write a simple VBA script to do it.

What would be the content of the script to do this?

Would there also be a way to load the add-in into Excel. Then, when you
take an image of the server, the settings would stick when you apply the
image?

Amanda,

I have an add-in loader that I am working on. If you would like a copy (it
is not complete though, so you will be beta testing it), but if you are
game, mail me direct.
