Default Conditional Formating

On 500 separate worksheets... I have a conditional format working on a cell
that compares to another cell. If greater that + or minus 4% ...turn red, 6%
turn green and 8% greater turn blue.

Surprisingly I got that to work!

Now I would like to LINK those 500 worksheets to one sheet and retain the
formatting. When I initiated the link.... the formatting does not carry this
over.

Is this at all possible.

The format will not carry over.

The easiest way is to use the "Paint Brish" to copy the format and then
paste it to the corresponding cell. To do this, select the cell that contains
the formatting, click on the "Paint Brush" and then go to the consolidadeted
sheet and click on the cell which you want the formatting to be applied.

This should sort it out.

Robert

To the best of my knowledge, formatting cannot be included when you create
links - even in the same workbook. Only the cell content/result is supplied
to the linked cell.

If I understand what you are trying to do, the only thing I can suggest is
that you format the appropriate cells in the client workbook the same way as
those linked to in the source. You can use the Format Painter feature
(remember that double-clicking the button leaves it active so you can paste
the formatting to as many different locations as necessary) or you can use
the Paste SpecialFormats command from the edit menu.

If you'll need to set up a number of workbooks the same way, you may also
want to create Styles and/or save a template file set up and formatted as
necessary.
